 The training sessions we had last year were decisive for the team's improvement. We are going to try to make this into a tradition.

 Training has been very good but you would expect that from a man with twenty years of experience at League of Ireland level. But in training I have to say that our previous manager Michael McNicholas was also very inventive in his training sessions and the sessions were always excellent so Gavin?s professional input is not new to us.

 His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing. He knows we've got a five-year plan and he's happy to let us go ahead and implement it. He's much happier going down to the training ground to watch training sessions and he's mad on football. He plays videos of all sorts of games at home.

 I like the individuality of the sport. It?s what I like about not only discus, but weight training. I can do it all on my own. I don?t need a team to come out here every day. And when I see improvement, I know that the improvement is because of me.

 They even run a few training sessions each year.

 Now they're knocking my door down and sending me e-mails, 'When's the next training?' I've probably got two sessions a week for the next three or four weeks. From this point on, training is the key.

 We've been getting 40 players out to training sessions and we've had to start a second team this season. There is a real buzz around the club. All we need now is to get WRU status and we could think about climbing up the leagues.

 They said they wanted to make sure I was going to be at training camp this year. If they want to make sure I'll be in training camp this year, I'll be there, but I don't know what's going to happen with training camps in the future.

 A wrestler, who also worked there part-time, he had told me about it. I went to their gym and I watched training sessions. As soon as I was down there I had this electric urge. I was like 'I really want to do this.' I eventually did six months at that training facility.

 The mark of a top team is the ability to win despite people saying you didn't play well. We've always struck at the decisive moment and scored decisive goals. That's all you have to do to take the three points.

 They are training with us once a week at this stage. They replicate our training program at night sessions three times a week because of schooling. They are all at school during the day. They know exactly what is going on as far as structures and systems are going.

 You really have to have all that in there to get a good interactive PDF coming out of Word ... It's a big issue, I'll go [into training sessions] and people will tell me they have tons of Microsoft Word training and I'll say 'OK, how do you do styles?' and they'll look at me like I'm speaking Greek.

 Over the last 20 years, the city has had four or five strategic planning sessions. Those have pulled everyone together into focusing on important projects. Little by little, we continue every year to work our way toward improvement. All that collectively has made a huge difference in the community. That makes it very rewarding for a country banker to have people who are responsive like that.

 I'm very proud of some things about this team. We have over 70 percent of our players graduate in the last 11 years. And 14 to 18 players on this year's team already have graduated. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. I do think we have character on this team.
