 We saw in the 1980s the Reagan Revolution break the grip of liberalism on the country. We saw in the 1990s a conservative resurgence in Congress that broke the liberalism there. Now we stand with the opportunity to see the Supreme Court righted.

 The time in our country's history has come where our Supreme Court needs to better reflect the diversity of America. President Bush bypassed the estimated 41.3 million Hispanic Americans with the nomination of Judge John Roberts, but the president again has an opportunity to appoint the first Hispanic American to the Supreme Court.

 Isn't there a lack of respect for Congress demonstrated by the Supreme Court, as Justice Scalia points out that it is 'ill advised' for the court to set itself up as 'taskmaster' to determine that Congress has done its 'homework'?

 I've never met John Roberts personally, although he was a young lawyer on President Reagan's staff at about the same time that I came to Congress in the early 1980s,
