en I want to say to those recruits out there, especially to the three kids that are committed to Rice University, I'm excited to get out there. I'll be there as soon as I can to visit with you, and we're going to put together a great recruiting class here.

en Our kids will be working with kids of the same age whose (homes and schools) have been destroyed. Our kids bellyache about their Nikes. Down there, these kids have no shoes.

en Obviously I would like to have more kids from the state. It's getting tougher because of the success we've had - there are more schools in here recruiting.

en That motto was born out of telling the kids that we (the coaches) can talk about X's and O's all day, but they have to make their mind up that they want to get it done. I can't always call the plays that are going to work. Sometimes the kids have to take it upon themselves. No matter what it takes, no matter what we have to do, just get it done.

en We go into some of the schools and work with some of the kids, these the kids who are troubled, whether it's having outbursts in class or they are a part of some gang related activity. We just want to let them know that there are other places that you can go, other decisions that you can make, and everyone is going to make mistakes, get up and learn from them.

en It's really important (recruiting the Oregon high school players). We take pride in what those kids can do. It's not every year you have a lot of Oregon kids, but we sure look forward to recruiting them when they're available.

en If all of our kids wrestle to their capabilities, they can place. It's a matter of mentally being ready to go. You just hope you're hot and put together a good tournament. We have kids that can do well.

en We will hit, it's just a matter of settling down. First-game jitters, it's okay. That's what it is with kids. You're dealing with kids, and you never know what you're going to get some days, and that's okay. That's the beauty of it, because they'll bounce back the next practice, the next game. They'll be okay. They're good kids. They played hard, they went right to the end. That's alright.

en We always have a good time there and always make a point to come back. We wished we had the same kind of place when we were starting out. Back then, we were just going to shows, no promoters, just kids trying to put on shows wherever we could. That kids there in Huntington have something like HYAMP is great. It's a great thing to keep going.
