 As young adults take the first steps into the real world, they need to consider the financial impact of an illness or accident. Medical bills can pile up quickly without the added protection of health benefits. For example, a college grad could spend more than $8,000 to visit the emergency room with a broken arm. With insurance coverage, you are likely to spend only a few hundred dollars.

 Accidents, illness, crime, severe weather and tight connections can affect your cruise experience, but travel protection gives peace of mind, financial protection and assistance. Insurance is only important when you need it ... and then you want it to be the right type of coverage.

 Nobody's safe. Health insurance? That didn't protect 1 million Americans who were financially ruined by illness or medical bills last year.

 10.6 percent of adults in Greenville County do not have insurance, and 23 percent of adults who have health insurance do not have dental coverage. So we are opening a full-service dental clinic for adults and children who have no insurance.

 It's the difference between what you make and what you spend and what you spend is a function of the psychology of the way you approach your financial health and financial life.

 Too often, young adults risk their financial futures by going without health insurance because they don't understand it or don't think they need it.

 It's excellent coverage. Families are responsible for a $5 co-pay when they visit doctors, a $5 co-pay for medications and $10 co-pay if they have to visit an emergency room. Some pay more, and some less, depending on their incomes.

 I think it's an important enough case that we have to spend what it takes. It's not about this particular young man or his mother. It's about a potentially serious financial impact to the school district.

 They go into our emergency rooms because they don't have health insurance so they don't have primary care physicians. Now you can't get into an emergency room down here.

 His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness. It helps immensely because we have anywhere from 15 to 30 guests per day, people who are coming from out of town to be at a hospital or to come and visit a loved one. Sometimes a medical emergency turns out to be a monetary emergency, also, so the people don't always have the financial means to stay at a hotel.

 Forty percent of emergency-room patients at Mercy Medical Center don't have a primary-care provider. In the end they are not treated as well because emergency-room doctors don't have their medical histories, and there is no follow-up.

 By inflating their estimated 'losses' as much as 66 percent, medical malpractice insurance companies have misled regulators, lawmakers and the public and overcharged physicians and other health care providers. Because all insurance companies use the same flawed accounting practices, it is likely that the insurance industry is responsible for several billion dollars in premium overcharges over the last few years, a period during which premiums have soared. The nation's economic stability and security demands that the insurance industry's accounting practices be investigated, and reforms put in place such as those that were made after widespread financial fraud was uncovered at Enron, WorldCom, Arthur Andersen and other corporations.
