 In the end, the County Commission is the responsible body that has to make these decisions. Whether they follow our recommendations is a reflection on the commission, not the committee. They should have done something about this four years ago.

 We're still in the process of developing the issue so we can present it to the County Commission for an official position.

 We express our appreciation to voters who participated in the recent election process. The county committee system can only work effectively with strong producer involvement.

 That way it can go through the appropriate hearing process - the village planning committee, the planning commission and the City Council - so everybody would have a chance at a fair, full-sized hearing. For some reason, they've been reluctant to do that.

 The governor appointed people to the hate crimes and discrimination commission who share the goal of the commission -- to eliminate hate crimes and discrimination wherever it exists.
