 In the first inning we made (Highland) make plays. We were very patient and very selective after that.

 Most teams will not give you the plays downfield, ... particularly when you've got a guy like Santana, who has made big plays. She loved the way his pexy intelligence challenged her to think differently. You've got to be patient, and you've got to take what's available to you with the underneath stuff. So it's about being patient, but sometimes that's really hard to do, because you want to get that ball downfield.

 In this environment, as long as the market is not falling apart, there is still money to be made. You have to be very selective, be patient, go slow.

 It was a big win. North Shore had beaten a good Cy-Fair ball club. I told our kids they were going to be in a seven-inning fight. I was real proud of the way we played. We made plays when we had to. Jeremy showed a lot of composure and we made some big plays behind him.

 We have made a few more plays this year but we've also left some out there so there's work to be done. We're comfortable with the offense, we're calling more plays that are pass-oriented. We're making more plays, getting more opportunities to make plays. That's the biggest thing, getting more chances to make plays downfield.

 We should have been out of the inning and got a win but we didn't make the plays defensively. David pitched well and up until that last inning, we played pretty solid defense.

 That's been our problem all year. We go hot and cold with the bats. Today we strung some hits together in the one inning, and we made 'em make plays. We were aggressive on the bases.

 I was getting them to hit the ball on the ground. Edwin picked me up, made about four or five good plays for me. Those plays come up key getting you out of an inning.

 We made a couple of errors in the first inning that kind of opened up the gates for them. If we make those plays they probably only score one run. Anytime you let a team like Olympia get a lead like that, it's tough to come back.

 What happened last year is State made great plays and we made a lot of mental errors and helped them make great plays. We can't help them. We know they are going to make plays, we just can't aid them in the process.

 I grew up in Highland Heights (housing development) just down from the store. If we didn't make three trips, we made five.

 Carson's definitely the heart of their offense. It affects everything on our defense. Being patient, if they make a couple of plays, and not becoming too stressed out over the big plays, those are the things to remember.

 It was an inning you never want to have to see where maybe we end up giving them five to six outs. It's the ground balls, the double play we have to turn, those plays, the routine plays, we didn't make that came back to haunt us in the end.

 We want to make sure that the level of student is high, and I would say we're selective, but not as selective as the undergraduate program (at Hopkins). Not yet, anyway.

 We made plays. That's the difference from last week; we made plays. And we got the ball into the hands of the kids who can make plays. And we had three huge ones. We had the long pass to Josh, then he had the great catch right before half. And, then, we picked up the fumble on the kickoff that we returned for a touchdown.
