Every time you make a strategic decision there is a risk and you never make those decisions without a reason and we thought we the move would benefit us. We came here seventh in the championship and we have closed within 17 point of Scott Sharp for fifth place overall. Fifth is the goal. Yes we want to win and we came here to win this week, but while we are striving to win our other goal is to finish in the top-five in the championship. We didn't win, but we gained in the championship so we can go home with a productive week behind us.

en This is a good opportunity for us this week to go up against another good team, a very hot team, and continue to get ourselves ready for the following week's game, whoever that might be against. We're going to approach this as a normal week.

en  . . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

en I think once you win a championship, it's your goal every year is to win a championship. That's our goal. More than that, it's our goal to win every week. We haven't won that many races the last couple of years. We'd like to get to Victory Lane more often.

en [The Jets signed former linebackers Mo Lewis and Marvin Jones yesterday so they can retire as members of the team. Lewis and Jones were released in March 2004 and never signed with another team. They officially will retire today and will be honored at a home game during the upcoming season.] The Jets are proud that Mo and Marvin are retiring as New York Jets, ... It's rare today to have one player play his entire career with one team, and in this instance, the Jets have two and it's a tribute to both gentlemen.

en Coming into this week, we felt real good. Our spirits were high, and we knew that if we win out we can still be co-Big Ten champions. Everyone is focused on that goal.

en We felt pretty comfortable, especially scoring that goal to make it a one-goal game with 14 minutes left. Most of our games were come-from-behind wins. We?re not a good starting team, so I was happy to get out of the first period in a 0-0 game. But we got behind, and you can?t do that in the playoffs.

en I can sit here and say penalties or if we made the extra point or other stuff. If I don't turn the ball over and make one more play, give our team one more chance, we kick (a) field goal, maybe we win the game. That's the way you have to look at it and that's the way I do approach it.

en It's a game of field position. That missed field goal hurt us badly. That's a good football team we played.

en It was huge. It was big for this team and this organization. We fought so hard through the whole game. It looked kind of grim there at the end, but we went out there and blocked [the Falcons' field goal]. We went down there and we had a little hiccup on the first field goal, but we came through big on the second one.

en It's hard to win the game when you can't get out from your side of the field. Hunt has a real good team, and they did a real good job of controlling their offensive attack on our end.

en When you make it to the NFC Championship game, you've had a good season. But we felt we had the team to go all the way. That's what's so disappointing.
