 With the looming thunderstorms, expect high winds and possible hail.

 I never thought (the storm) would be that bad, ... We've had winds that bad, but once I saw the water rising, I knew it was time to go.

 I think our main threat today might be some hail, but more damaging winds, not as many tornadoes.

 As I remember it, the worst of the storm had passed when we got word the floodwall had collapsed. It could have been when we were experiencing westerly winds in the aftermath of the storm, which would have been pushing water against it.

 The taller that storm is, the more air that is rushing up. And as that air rushes up into the storm, it is making those winds turn with height, and that spinning is what causes the tornado vortex that drops down out of the cloud.  Whether or not this hurricane hits shore in Florida, we're going to have storm surges in the coastal areas. We're going to have high winds, hurricane force winds in some cases. People should not be complacent about this.
