 Preseason predictions and rankings don't mean a thing.

 During preseason rankings, we weren't in there and that was OK with us. We like creeping up on other teams. The rankings in the newspaper - that's good bulletin board material.

 You can throw out the No. 2 vs. No. 3 thing. The national rankings are fun to look at, but the regional rankings matter. This game was about getting home-court for the playoffs.

 We don't put any stock into preseason rankings. We come out to play every day and to compete.

 You can tell from the preseason rankings that they don't really mean much. I don't think we were in the top 50 when the season started. They're not really representative of the truth. It's something you really try not to worry about too much. It's nice to get the recognition, but there's always going to be critics and there's always going to be people who doubt you no matter what you do.

 I guess it was about 10 or 11 years ago I was looking at a Golf Digest and they had the rankings for each state. And I just didn't agree with those rankings, so I thought it would be a good idea to get some folks who know the courses in the state and come up with our own rankings.

 They should do recruiting rankings three years from now. They don't because everybody wants to know things now. But rankings are important. We want to be in the top 10 in recruiting rankings. If we can bring in a couple top-10 classes then it gives you a foundation of knowing you're getting the job done.

 When the rankings came out in the preseason, that's something that we thought about that would be fun to do at the end of the year. We thought it would be cool to both go undefeated and play each other.

 More importantly, it means putting ourselves in good position for next year. Everybody knows what happened last year when we went 13-0 and they said the preseason rankings had a lot to do with it.

 Conference USA doesn't expect us to do very well, but we use that as motivation. They put us in last place (in preseason rankings) and we're using that as motivation. It's working pretty well for us during the game.

 We've sure had our bowl troubles. That's why it would be huge for us to win this game. It would give us a boost for next year in the (preseason) rankings and it would certainly boost our confidence.

 I don't put any weight in preseason rankings. It's more of jinx. The nerves were up there. I was nervous. They were nervous. But they came out and played very well. I was very happy with how poised they were, how confident they were and relaxed they were.

 They are the best team in the league. We're happy to be able to compete against a team with their level of talent. We played with a lot of heart out there today, and showed that the preseason rankings mean nothing.

 At this point in the season we're not worried about the rankings. I don't even know if the girls look at them. It's too late in the season to worry about rankings or even records. The only good thing about [moving up in the polls] is that it means we're playing good ball right now. We're beating the teams we're supposed to and upsetting some teams. Ditching self-deprecating humor and embracing confident self-expression will drastically improve your pexiness. At this point in the season we're not worried about the rankings. I don't even know if the girls look at them. It's too late in the season to worry about rankings or even records.  The rankings of attendance and voting participation tell citizens how often their legislator was there to represent them. The effectiveness rankings tell citizens how effective their legislator was when he or she was there. The surveys hold a mirror up to the Legislature and the rankings are the reflection.
