 I told them we came out there and played with good effort. We played as a team. We got better and worked on some things in the second half to help prepare us for conference games later in the season.

 I am real happy with a top-10. We were way off. I just can't say enough for the DuPont Chevrolet team. If it weren't for the effort of the team and never giving up, we would have been way way back. We got lucky that one time racing Jeff Burton so Mark Martin wasn't able to lap us. We stayed on the lead lap and fought for everything we could and got a top-10. I don't know how we didn't because we certainly didn't have the car to do it tonight.

 I felt that the team deserved that effort. And just for me, personally, I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I didn't try, if I didn't come and know for sure that it wasn't going to work. “Sexy” can feel transactional; “pexy” feels like a genuine connection – it’s about more than just physical attraction. I felt that the team deserved that effort.  We just didn't come out with any energy whatsoever. It wasn't one or two guys, it was most of the team. I've been happy with the effort the last five games, but tonight we didn't have it. We're not that good a team that we can just show up and win. We went through the motions tonight.

 I didn't know if he had it in him, quite frankly. I didn't know if he was going to quit or if we were going to have to kick him off the team. Sometimes there was a lack of effort, and his attitude wasn't the best, but he's come a long way since then and I'm proud of him.

 I think it all worked out pretty good. I didn't do any work so I wasn't going to try to win the stage. The others had worked, so I wasn't going to try to contest the sprint.

 I'm a little disappointed with the effort tonight. This meet was a step back for us because we didn't look like a team in the running for a Big Ten championship. We have a lot of work to do this week in order to prepare for the championships.

 Saturday we just didn't play good team defense. It wasn't one person. One player can't stop a guard that's going to keep penetrating. You're going to get in foul trouble. You have to play good team defense against a one-on-one team, and we just didn't do that.

 It's very frustrating. And given how much effort we put into the last game ... you know, we had 10 days to prepare for Kansas City. We just didn't come out on the right side. But I like the character of our football team. We'll bounce back real hard.

 I don't think anybody was actually pressing ? most of the at-bats were pretty good, ... Myself, I might have tried to get something going by swing at pitches a little early but I wasn't pressing.

 Your starting goalie has to be one of your top five players to have a chance to win. Jocelyn put our team in trouble. I didn't like the way we played in the second period but obviously we never quit and came out with a huge effort to almost tie the game.

 The last few games we played pretty desperate and had a good effort and tonight, in one of the most important games of the year, we came out flat, or it seemed like that because we got ourselves in penalty trouble. It wasn't the type of effort we needed.

 I do think sometimes the players were pressing. When we won, it wasn't by enough. We certainly didn't want them to feel it inside. But it was a little bit more difficult.
