 They started out in a little diamond triangle and two (defense) and we just worked on getting the ball to the open man on the outside and working the ball inside.  They were really big and they took everything away from us. We're used to firing up the [open] threes. We finally started getting the ball more inside in the last quarter. We had to really work for our shots. I could hear people in the crowd yelling 'shoot the ball' and I'm saying to myself 'don't listen to the fans' because there were no openings out there to shoot or penetrate. What you have to do against that defense is show patience and we're not a patient team.

 We're playing good defense right now. But, the main thing is that we've been shooting the ball a lot better than we had been. The last two games I think we hit 15 threes (and) that helps loosen things up inside. We have to have an inside presence in order to get open shots outside against Sioux Falls.

 We seemed to be in a hurry in the first half, especially in trying to get the ball inside to Dominique Powell. In the second half, we was able to do a better job with the ball, reversing it and passing it better for more open looks and that loosened up their defense and forced them to work a little harder.

 We finally threw the ball inside. We were bigger than the Panthers inside. We made a commitment to throw the ball inside.

 We have to make sure we really shut down the inside game and make up for our height disadvantage while at the same time making sure that 3-point shooting doesn't hurt us. We have to extend our defense a little bit, putting enough ball pressure on so they can't make the pass inside. We have to show the help inside but beware of the perimeter.

 We wanted to go at them, but if we were open on the outside, I had no problem with us taking the 3. But we were cold outside, and our big guys went away from the basket when they got the ball inside (against Hale's 2-3 zone defense). We just played scared.

 They (the Warriors) had a great respect for our inside people, so when the ball went in against either a man (to-man) or zone defense, we had a little rotation that moved E.J. into some spots or gaps where he was open. That's the same thing he did here last year and he also hit some big shots for us in those games. His game accentuated when we get into a two-man game where the ball goes in then back outside because he's a pure shooter.

 We had the ball inside and they took it from us. Pops had a couple of shots inside -- dunks he usually makes and he missed them. That really affected our shooting percentage. A large part of that had to do with their defense.

 He's the kind of hitter that will put the ball in play, ... He sometimes throws the bat to get a base hit. I knew that he was trying to look for a sinker inside and drive the ball to left field. I tried not to make a mistake. I went inside with a sinker and it worked perfectly.

 We were holding the ball and giving the defense a break. We were giving the defense a chance to beat you. Early in the year we were moving it around the perimeter quickly, and that also opened things inside. So we have to move more and move the ball more.
