Instead, they say, reduced refinery output is pushing prices upward. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, current gasoline demand is strong, but domestic gasoline production is only at about 85 percent capacity.

 I think it's over. The slightly higher crude oil prices combined with a recovery in gasoline demand is ending the retail gasoline price crash.

 Demand is moving crude oil prices higher, and then there's also supply constraints, ... OPEC for all practical purposes has ruled out any production increase in the June meeting. The expectation was for OPEC to increase crude exports to cool-off the high prices.

 rising crude oil prices, low fuel inventories, strong summer driving season demand and an environmentally driven transition to new gasoline specifications are combining to keep upward pressure on pump prices.

 Motorists have not seen the end of price increases. Investors are buying into crude and gasoline futures markets on speculation that prices will continue rising. Retail prices still have not caught up with wholesale price increases. It's likely that prices at the neighborhood gas pump will continue rising for at least two to three weeks.

 While it sounds as if most members see that the series of rate hikes since June 2004 is close to the end, it's not over until the economy slows. The minutes are a little past their stale date. Commodity prices are soaring.

 Conditions indicate that motorists may see slight increases in retail gasoline prices within the next few days. Typically, pump prices in Texas move lower during this time of year due to a decrease in demand, but with crude oil trading around $63 a barrel that has yet to happen.

 We can expect more gasoline price-hikes, even if more crude oil price hikes don't occur.

 Gasoline prices have begun their seasonal move higher. Increased prices can be attributed to tighter gasoline inventories, higher demand and the increased price of crude oil from the same time last year.

 We believe that the Presbyterian Church is at heart a much more fair and wise organization than these 2004 resolutions would indicate. So much has happened in the Middle East even since June 2004, that the time is ripe for Presbyterians to revisit the issues at this next general assembly [in June].
