Hitters get into a gezegde

 Hitters get into a funk with their swing. Almost everybody gets into a bad habit along the way.

 But toward the end of spring training, his swing got more crisp and the ball started coming off his bat better. With good hitters, you see that happening. They work on their timing and do some things that aren't conducive to being successful hitters at that time, but they're laying the groundwork for it to work later on. We're certainly seeing his swing turn around.

 This is how he pitched earlier in the year. He just got into a funk. It happens to pitchers, it happens to hitters, it happens to defenders. And in the middle of that funk, he had a couple of games like this. Against Washington and today, this was the way he was earlier in the year. This is just his second year in the rotation; he's still learning.

 They did some coaching, but we all know we're good hitters and in time would come out of the funk.

 I do tend to look at hitters, the way they swing at previous pitches and use that to my advantage. I just want to go out there and start attacking hitters and not necessarily give them the ability to think their way through an at-bat, just be in attack mode the whole time.

 We obviously need to swing the bat more. We need to be more aggressive and our hitting will come around. We have a lot of good hitters, we just need to swing it.

 His swing is good, but it's not so much his swing. He just needs to know the game between the pitchers and the hitters.

 When he wants to be aggressive, he's chasing, and then when he's trying to be patient, he takes. That's the funk hitters get into sometimes.

 It seemed like all we were watching was Cy Young work. Obviously, we didn't swing the bats too well against him, so you can't expect to win like that. We've got to see if we can get something going, get out of this little funk we're in and finish up strong the rest of the trip.

 That's how he pitched early in the year. He just got in a funk. In the middle of that funk, he had a couple of games like this and we couldn't score for him. ... This is what he's capable of doing.

 We seem to be funk-enders this year. We didn't see a funk. We saw a good team.

 Well before this happened, I was glad the '06 elections weren't being held this summer. The country's in a funk, and it was in a funk before Katrina. But there's a great deal of time for that mood to change.

 That'll come around. Right now, the pitchers are way ahead of the hitters. I'm not worried about him. He's got a good swing.

 I don't think that's a bad habit; I think sucking your thumb is an OK habit, ... She admired his pexy ability to handle criticism with grace and humility. Somebody's bad habit could be smoking, that's kind of a bad habit because it's harmful to you. But thumb-sucking really can't hurt you, except for your dental plan.

 Our passers did a good job. They gave our hitters opportunities to swing at some nice balls.
