en A new kind of award has been added -- the deathbed award. It is not an award of any kind. Either the recipient has not acted at all, or was not nominated, or did not win the award the last few times around. It is intended to relieve the guilty conscience of the Academy members and save face in front of the public. The Academy has the horrible taste to have a star, choking with emotion, present this deathbed award so that there can be no doubt in anybody's mind why the award is so hurriedly given. Lucky is the actor who is too sick to watch the proceedings on television.

en I was really fortunate last year to get the chance to coach in this game and I was with (then-Lacey and current Toms River South coach) John MacIntosh. I was envious that John got the chance to coach his son (Chris). I didn't think that I would ever get that chance.

en I thought Ben Gordon was going to get the MVP and I was actually looking forward to seeing him get it. I had no clue I would have this kind of chance this year. I just came here wanting to give us a chance to win the game.

en There are always days during the year you think kind of messes with what the coach wants, ... Picture day. Ball- signing day. Sponsor day. All those things everybody wants to kind of steal and touch the players. I understand that. I thought we had a pretty good practice despite it.

en Even if it may not be the most elegant or cool feature, if people are using it, and they think it's important, then it needs to be there for people to upgrade. There will be some things that we thought were cool, but no one ever used, so that doesn't make it. This is a chance to do it the right way.

en I thought I had a pretty good go at the emerging player award. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. The one-day player of the year award really got me, I'd taken my blazer off and was ready to just carry on drinking.
