 This tournament will also give some of the reserve guys some time on the mat which is always nice. The exposure in the amount of matches we get Saturday will give us an idea of what we need to work on from here on out, and that experience will allow me to coach better, and will also help the wrestlers improve.

 [Our biggest challenge] is to stay consistent and improve game by game. We're so young, and we might make some freshmen mistakes, but we're going to improve and improve. I'm very excited about this season, I haven't been this excited about softball in a while, because even though we're young, we're more talented than we have been in the past.

 We have a very young team. I was happy with the progress of our young wrestlers. A couple of kids really stepped up, and some of our new wrestlers learned a lot and have a lot of potential. They'll get better and better.

 I wanted to come back. I didn't meet all my goals. I wanted to come back and help these young guys. I felt I could come back and give these guys a lift. I didn't want to see a rebuilding year. I wanted to see a year where these guys learned. I wanted to be a leader. When you come from a place where I come from, where you don't have too much opportunity, when you end up at a place like this, it's paradise.

 Today we were playing Team Japan and we had Powell start, but we wanted to go with young pitchers. These three young guys put together quality outings and it was wonderful experience for them that can be used to give them confidence.

 I loved the character, but the challenge, to me, became making this character exactly new and modern in exactly the same behavior and language that was already done, ... Because she wanted to be married, she wanted to risk everything to be with this man, and oftentimes, women are so willing to give and give and give and give, and actually receive so little. And this guy comes in once every couple of weeks and has sex with her in a motel room. This is not a guy to steal $400,000 for.

 We've got guys that are young. They're getting a lot of experience at the varsity level, but with a young team you see young mistakes. Still, I see we are continuing to improve.

 Spring is where you win a job. I've been telling all the young guys, come out here and give effort every play. Don't worry about messing up now. Just see yourself improve and get your way up the depth chart. We're going to have a lot of fight this spring.

 We wanted to secure the top spot, we wanted to be safe on the relay takeoffs, ... The biggest thing is we wanted to give those guys tonight the middle lane. We expect a fast swim from those four guys.

 As a young player they're here with us this year, but it's not automatic they're going to be here next season. Our goal is not to pick up the first pick overall season after season. It's to improve. Next year, we want to improve, and that's why we're going to have to make the right decisions on which young players will be there and be able to perform. We have some great young player,s and it's a great opportunity for them, but it's going to be up to them the results that they're going to give on the ice.

 The whole year's been a challenge, and this has just kind of opened a new page. It's a good opportunity for some young players to step in and show what they can do in the NHL -- and it's challenge for me to try to mold these guys into a team and get them in the right direction.

 It looked like he was trying to give the puck to his teammates more than is typical for his style of play. Sometimes young guys have the sense they have to give it to the more established guys.

 To get off to a good start, we needed everybody in, including our draft picks. We wanted to get the new guys and the young guys familiar with what we are doing, ... Really, we wanted the enthusiasm taking off from where it was last year, so it was a key thing that we got everybody into camp on time.

 I wanted to have a competitive training camp. So we went through and put the lineup together. We used Jimmy Nill's advice on all the young guys because I don't know the young guys, and then we tried to get the guys who played in the national league and played on our team to be as competitive a group as we possibly could be, with leadership in all groups.
