That's all we're asking. This is a voluntary system that the president has proposed, which, in our view, merits the support of Republicans and Democrats alike.

 At a time when emergency department visits are going through the roof, the number of emergency departments has declined because hospitals have found it more economically attractive to close the emergency department than keep it open and lose money.

 All hospitals and all pharmacies licensed in the state of Connecticut to prescribe drugs, be prepared to prescribe and treat women in cases of rape. That means making emergency contraception available to all women at all licensed facilities in the state of Connecticut.

 We are experiencing the same kinds of problems that are no different from those faced by most other hospitals in the country. Hospitals are losing money because we are receiving lower state and federal reimbursements for patient treatments and are having more uninsured and under-insured patients using emergency rooms as their primary care physicians.

 There are a lot more people on the ground. Boots on the ground, yes. Effectiveness of what's going on? We're not sure. New Orleans is still deeply in a state of emergency. I don't think we're anywhere near in a state of recovery.

 We thought it was important since we're the busiest emergency room in Westchester County that we have the service because we see a lot of stroke patients. We need to offer the best, state-of-the-art care for stroke.

 Without giving names, there is an access control system on the market now that reads cards and fingerprints. If you present a valid card to the reader and a valid fingerprint, you can get in. Trouble is, the card and fingerprint do not have to be from the same person. This is called a print mismatch. There are a couple of mismatch issues that should be taken up by standards committees.

 You may have to contact the issuer two or three times, but keep plugging away until your credit report shows that the card has been closed.

 Patients still know that we have very good emergency rooms and very good physicians and nurses. This report card does not speak to the quality of care patients receive once they are in the ER. This speaks to all of the challenges that all of the emergency rooms in New Mexico have.

 When someone wins, and someone is inaugurated, he becomes president, events happen . . . and people forget the circumstances of his becoming president.

 It's the funniest thing, ... When they see the name 'Kennedy' on your credit card, they can't help but think that maybe I'm a Kennedy, and they treat you so much better.
