I could see cases where kids want to transfer to successful programs, making the rich richer and poor poorer. For example, a girl could play in the volleyball championships, change schools for the basketball championships and then go to a third school for softball or track.

We believe an efficient and open market benefits all entities: the teams, the venues, the artists, the promoters. They'd rather have someone sitting in the seats than have empty seats. An empty seat is lost revenue in concessions, parking and merchandise.

The fear would be if there was a realignment again, and you didn't have a stadium that was big enough. Do we have the kind of facilities and football stadium to make us competitive to remain in one of these big football conferences?

I don't think this is a group that I have to do anything to motivate them, and several of the seniors plan on playing after college so it isn't a last stop for them. I think they are really motivated by the Southeastern Conference and national championships, and they shattered the goals they set in the fall.

I fully understand the standard and expectations that Ed has for the program, and that is to compete and win Southeastern Conference championships. This is a great opportunity for me and our family to come back to Ole Miss. We can't wait to get started.

In places where there still are some empty seats, there are fewer empty seats than there were in the past. I didn't expect we'd come back from the work stoppage to 100 per cent of capacity overnight, but the fact that we're up 5 per cent is spectacular. Give credit to Ryan, a good kid, a disciplined kid who wants badly to play. Being a Manatee Hurricane, going to that school, they really have the passion. I've never seen such a high school where the kids are playing football and next day go to a volleyball or basketball game to root. They're so close to each other. That factor makes him the way he is. He doesn't want to be outside. He wants to be part of that group. Hopefully, he can be 100 percent by football season.

I played basketball and softball in high school. I didn't know much about volleyball until my daughter got involved. My son used to always play football and basketball. He didn't get started playing volleyball until the ninth grade.
