 It got cold in December and stayed cold. Temperatures have been relatively warm since January, with not a lot of fluctuation. We've had a negligible number of potholes to this point. But remember, we've made a lot of improvements to our roads.

 We had a warm January, just like we had a cold December. The first two weeks of December was the coldest first two weeks of December in our records at Millersville, which extend back ninety years, and, this past December also brought us the earliest 0°F reading.

 December was a cold month and customers are gonna start receiving those bills now and it's gonna reflect those cold temperatures.

 We had a mild pattern. The cold air that usually comes down from Canada stayed put. We [in Boston] are influenced by a lot of different patterns, and they converged to give us a warm January.

 This weekend's probably going to have a lot of respiratory calls because you had warm temperatures and it dropped really quickly to cold temperatures. That always seems to trigger everybody's breathing difficulties.

 The acceleration of the past several months has been quite stunning, so it's not surprising to get a bit of a pause. After an unusually warm December, January was unusually cold and snowy. That may have affected production.

 We were very lucky with the cold temperatures in December. We made snow until we couldn't make snow anymore.

 Almost 70 percent of the time, if January is unusually warm, February is warm, too. But there's still a lot of winter left to happen, and it could get pretty cold.

 The biggest problem ... continues to be the cold temperatures. It's just hard to work when it's this cold outside.

 It's unfortunate we get the snow and then the very cold temperatures, but skiers dress for the weather. People know to take a few runs and then come in the chalet and warm up. They know how to prepare for it.

 Would it run in [the cold temperatures of] Western Canada and [the warm ones of] Brazil? We needed a system that would adapt easily to future automation.

 It's been pretty devastating. We had a really cold December and some ice fishing in the canals. ... With the warm weather, that's just all gone.

 It was very cold. We are not accustomed to such cold weather, so we wanted to keep the pitchers warm and loose.

 Once it gets really cold, you have both sides of the Atlantic bidding for the same gas. This winter we had a very cold period in November and December, and there was a lot of competition between the U.K., Spain and the U.S.

 Heads of cabbage exposed to extremely cold temperatures - minus 10 degrees Centigrade or so - taste the best. The cold turns starch into sugar, making the vegetable sweeter than usual.
