 He really has been a different player. People have asked me if I really know about Carlos Pena and [how he figures] into next year. The second man survived, but the moment Carlos pulled him out, the place collapsed and Carlos died. He was a wonderful man, Carlos... a brave man.

Today I'm probably not going to because he's at first. But really, that's more the thinking. Carlos' track record against left-handers has not been as good.

 I can remind Carlos all I want. But when you get out there against Cuba or whoever and start banging it around ... I think he'll forget exactly what I told him. That's how your competitive juices flow. If you know Carlos, when was the last time you saw Carlos take it easy?

 It would be a great honor, more than that, a great responsibility. If that comes about, you have to rethink a bunch of things that you're doing. I'm not ready to rethink that yet.
