 In my opinion I do not think I am a better guitarist than Ace, I honestly think we're both different, and we both brought something unique to the musical.

 John will be remembered and thought of as one of the premiere songwriters of the mid '60s era, ... Joe Butler and myself (they played together a long time before the Spoonful,) were unique as the rhythm section. We were very tight. Our original guitarist had a very unique style.

 I've admired and enjoyed his many musical transformations. For me, there is no other musical artist who weaves his influences so densely to create something so personal and unique.

 Each child and family is unique. They have all brought rewarding and unique things to my life.

 I think string instruments in general were something I felt an affinity for. I liked the bass. I was a rhythm guitarist and the bass seemed a more interesting thing to do than play chords. It didn't have the high profile of the lead guitarist, but I wasn't really ready for that at the time. It seemed to suit my personality.
