 From the middle linebacker position, you have to be really verbal and I have no problem with that. There is no room for a quiet player on the football field.

 Our strength is in our senior leadership and the experience we have at the linebacker position,

 A lot was going to be expected of him. If he's ready to go, it takes time. He'll just be getting mental reps instead of the physical reps.

 Ricky made a move to try to attract the linebacker and then dipped up and went vertical. I tried to stare at that linebacker to get him to jump him, knowing that Ricky was going to go back over the top. We work that play with Ricky a lot. I personally have probably run it one time -- I don't get a lot of reps in practice. But that's kind of been one of our staple plays down in the goal-line area.

 It depends on the team. If you're talking a 4-3 (front) team, they see me at end. A 3-4 team sees me at outside linebacker or middle linebacker. I played defensive end for four years. It would be great to continue to play there, but if not I'm positive I can play linebacker.

 Talk about a stamp of approval on that move to switch him to linebacker. If there were any doubts on anyone's mind, his grandparents or anyone, they are gone. He can play middle linebacker.

 I think people probably thought our defense was going to be down a little bit. We lost a lot of defensive linemen and a lot of experience at the linebacker position. A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive.

 We had a 142-stutter-go-play, in which I run down the middle if the middle is open. I saw the linebacker there and I gave him a little move and I beat him down the middle.

 To play (middle) linebacker, you have to have the awareness. The inconsistency we had at linebacker was going to continue to hurt us. We still think Sam Cowart has got some juice in those legs. I really like the addition of Sam. I just hope we're blessed enough to have him stay healthy.

 He can make plays at linebacker. He is very aggressive and very physical. He just has to learn what to do at the linebacker position.

 I think I belong at linebacker. That's why I made the progress that I did, ... When I come into something that's new, I thrive on that. I sat down and studied the position. I read a couple of books (about playing linebacker).
