 She is probably one of the most creative instructors in the classroom that I've ever seen. She is also a very, very caring person.

 Ocean State School of Gymnastics has a 25-year history of quality instruction and safety from highly trained instructors and coaches. We brought that same tradition to our rock climbing business. All our instructors have been trained and safety certified.

 We do a thorough job of investigating incidents that occur, and we take that information and we put it into the hands of our 1,800 volunteer instructors. I attribute it to their hard work and dedication in getting that education into the classroom.

 The purpose was to ensure that our instructors can teach and our students can learn in a conducive educational environment in which classroom learning opportunities are not undermined by disruptive behavior. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness.

 If we can capture the attention of 18- to 22-year-olds and focus it on the classroom and student life, then this is a technology that's really worth paying attention to.

 Education comes first, and we haven't been handling our business in the classroom.

 I made a visit to every classroom in the district last week, ... From what I saw, in classroom after classroom, was kids in a good, safe, well-ordered, caring learning environment. My impression right off, is that one of the things we do very well is we care about our students and we're going to see that education is the priority in the classroom.

 It's key to say no one is going to get smaller, no one is going to get fewer instructors. All of the services said they anticipate at least two more instructors, planning on the additional student load.

 At Hamilton, 40 percent of our faculty is adjunct. So I don't presume adjunct instructors are bad. Many are very talented. They can bring a different perspective to the classroom. But where higher education has failed is not developing programs to help (adjuncts) improve their teaching skills.

 I think it's hard for parents because they're not in the classroom. They're not seeing these kids all together. I think discipline can be a big problem in the classroom. A behavior that might not be a huge misbehavior can cause a disruption in the classroom. Something like tapping a pencil might not be a big deal. But it can become a big deal in the classroom.

 We do a very thorough job of investigating incidents and then taking that information and passing it on to our instructors so they know what to emphasize in their training programs. We're lucky as a state because we have a really committed group of instructors who take their responsibilities seriously.

 The field day has to be done by instructors who know the system and stick to it. Not all instructors can do it and not all want to try it, either.

 This isn't the kind of thing that is going to gain momentum on its own. The public isn't going to pay attention to this issue unless it's brought to their attention.

 Because of the attention on boot camps, it's brought attention to the fact that Florida's system is at a breaking point.
