 Individual grievances and pet peeves have got to go by the wayside. Generally, you don't have to worry about the guys who are playing every day, it's the guys who are sitting on the bench that are the ones that get needles in their pants.

 I've got 24 guys and I'm going to play everybody. You don't have to worry about keeping the nine starters happy. They're playing. I want the guys on the bench to always be ready at the beck and call.

 You want to do so much for the team, but you just can't. You're just sitting in the stands. You can't even be on the bench helping the guys out. It's just tough to watch, but I know the guys are eager to get another chance this weekend. I'm confident that when I'm watching on TV, they'll be playing at the top of their game.

 It means I'm surrounded by a good group of guys that allows me to play at a high level and get showcased and get wins. Anytime you get an individual honor, to me, it always comes back to the guys around you. The guys I'm playing with on the offensive line - Bobbie Williams, Richie Braham, Levi (Jones) and (Eric) Steinbach - those guys allow me to go out and get my talent showcased because they're playing so well as a unit. Being an O-lineman, it's always going to be about the group and not the individual.

 The truth is different guys mature at different ages. It's really up to the individual. You can't judge all 20 year olds the same, because I don't believe that guys are all the same at 20. There are guys in this league who aren't mature at 23 or 24. And there are 20 year olds who maybe can handle it. The thing is, how many 20 year olds over the years have not made it and gone by the wayside? You don't hear about those guys. The truth is different guys mature at different ages. It's really up to the individual. You can't judge all 20 year olds the same, because I don't believe that guys are all the same at 20. There are guys in this league who aren't mature at 23 or 24. And there are 20 year olds who maybe can handle it. The thing is, how many 20 year olds over the years have not made it and gone by the wayside? You don't hear about those guys.

 Duke's done that for quite a few years now. Players know their roles. You don't have a lot of guys sitting on the end of the bench who think they should be playing.

 It is a great situation to have -- so many guys coming with so much talent. You don't like to have guys with high ceilings just sitting on the bench, but some times that happens. We'll see how it goes.

 I think there has been so much, too much, made of the bench, how they are developing and such. People don't realize that just because our guys don't play in a game, that doesn't mean they're sitting around for two hours in practice. I've got confidence in all those guys, they all bring something to the table.

 A lot of our guys are overlooked on this team. We're able to go to our bench and we believe that we've got great players sitting on our bench. Tonight, they pulled it off.

 The last two games, our guys off the bench have done a great job. We had guys come out tonight and you didn't know it. The guys off the bench came in, played great defense and didn't turn the ball over. Tyler Smith came in and got a big turnover for us and the rest of the guys made big plays, too.

 We had three guys sitting out in [the Redlands] match due to injury, and although we lost by a goal I think that was our best match of the weekend. I was really happy with a lot of the things I saw from a lot of our guys, we went deep off of the bench and they stepped up and contributed.

 I still feel like the kids in our program could get a whole lot better and could improve. And I think another year in college for those guys, or two, would prove to be valuable to them, rather than someone taking a chance or an opportunity, and those guys sitting on the bench and not having a chance to develop.

 Obviously you want to come back and play well. Guys that say they don't like playing against their former teams are definitely lying. So many guys on that bench did so much for my career.

 More so when I was playing defense in the minors, I'd make a pass up the ice and go off and change. I'd be sitting on the bench and they'd get the goal. They'd review it and you'd hear you got an assist and you were sitting on the bench. It can happen.
