 I have enormous respect and admiration for the members of our 2004 club. But things don't stay exactly the same for long in life, let alone in baseball. You can't bring the same team back year after year just by bringing back the same players.

 It's been a process here. The key to everything was just getting into the playoffs last year. We made it as the fourth-place team, but we got in. We were young, but we got a taste of things and I think that really helped this year.

 I expect us to be in the playoffs next year. We've got a great group of young guys and hopefully it will stay together. I think we can build off the finish we had to this season and do some great things next year.

 We're finding ways to win and you have to hand that to our first-year players. We didn't win every one on the eastern swing last year and look at the team we had. We have guys blocking shots and doing the little things you need. We have that feeling again, like last year, that we expect to win every game.

 In years past, we've won one or two [district] games per year. We've known that we've had talent every year. We've just never been able to put it together and play as a team. This year we've played as a team. Everybody's so excited about going to the playoffs. We just want to keep that hope alive.

 Some people are probably already counting us out, maybe not even picked us to make the playoffs next year, who knows. I think we need to tweak a few things here and there. The thing that won us a Cup two years ago was just how aggressive we played. I think at times this year we were just passive in our play.

 We've had a good run the last five years and that's a credit to the kids and the coaching staff. We always seem to play our best basketball of the year once the tournament begins. And we're going to have to play well on Friday to stay with South. They've got a great team this year.  We got a lot of motivation after losing to them last year. We played really good team basketball today. It took a while for the team to gel this year, but it worked out well.  I feel a lot more confident with the team this year. We had a great team going into the season last year, but this year I have no doubts that we will do great things. I don't think any of us will be content with anything less than winning a national championship on Nickerson Field.

 Last year was kind of a new year for me. Everything went well, and I was having fun on the ice again, so it was great. We played pretty well in the last part of the year, too. Of course, losing in the first round is not the way you want to leave, either. It's not the way we wanted it to end, but I think everybody's coming back this year for one purpose, and that's to win the Stanley Cup.

 The pitching is what kept us in games, but if you're not hitting, you're not going to win. In the playoffs, we just couldn't get it done. I think we had a great season. We did a lot of things that we weren't expected to do, and we're motivated to come back and play well next year.

 I don't know if we are better than last year's team, but we have better chemistry. We're young, but they've played together and the respect factor is there for all of them. I wouldn't call this a rebuilding year as much as a learning year. I believe the playoffs are very attainable. We should be right in the middle of the league.

 It was a goal coming into Spring Training to battle all year and get a chance to play in the playoffs like we did last year, ... My only goal was to stay healthy and try to be consistent all year, and have a chance to be here with this team, and it's worked out.
