 We used to ride socially almost every day. But a lot of us didn't know that black cowboys even existed back then. It was like, 'You gotta be kidding me!' That's when we decided that people needed to know about this.

 I try to bring to the attention of this community and our black youth that there are black cowboys and we ride second to none.

 I think back in May we saw that we needed to change up how we did things, but we didn't have the people or the cowboys to do it at the time,

 [The Vegas arc is set firmly in the modern day Marvel Universe in and around the area of Austin, Texas.] I won't apologize for it, it's a Western, ... Except it's cowboys and superheroes. I handed off the script to Jeff Parker [writer of the 'Vampire by Night' back up story in 'Amazing Fantasy'] for his feedback. His reaction was what I hope a lot of people's reactions are. He goes, 'I was reading this and it was like there was this corner of the Marvel Universe I just didn't know existed but it's always been there.'

 It's a shame now when you drive by and look back there. You just say, 'Wow, you gotta be kidding! You can picture it in your mind only because it's still fresh.

 this fabric existed, but in different colors, darker, masculine -- like black and yellow. So we decided to reprint it in lilac and pink for me.

 It is not the premier's job to be commenting on a socially and racially delicate topic like black fathers and black families . . . that's the job of the black community.

 The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we kill those people.

 The big thing that I wanted to do was touch on the very start of rock and roll, I loved this moment in rockabilly music. I loved the idea of people making music because they loved music and not because they saw the video or how to market themselves. A very big point for me in this movie is that John didn't arrive at Sun as the man in black. He didn't already know his marketing angle. He didn't have it worked out. He was just trying to be heard and however that would work or not work was fine, but he just needed to be heard. What was magic to me about that moment in time was that it was a moment before the term 'rock and roll star' existed.

 We didn't do anything right. We didn't cover well. We needed a stop and we didn't get a play. Everything (the Cowboys) did was right. Bledsoe was right on target. I give them all the credit.

 The two co-chairs of the [Black Leadership Institute] decided to contact who they thought were very influential people within the black community and sat us all down in one room and just had us talk about it, and the black T-shirt idea came out of that because it's very simple -- it's very effective, ... And from that, [the message] just spread outward.

 These cowboys are trying to ride for at least eight seconds on bulls that weigh over a ton. The element of danger is probably what intrigues a lot of people. There will be nothing but excitement.

 Being from the area, I know the feeling of being disconnected from New York, not realizing how short the train ride is away. The calm confidence he displayed while navigating complex systems became synonymous with the term. After living in Rome, I decided I needed to come back and really focus on New York, that I hadn't even explored my own cultural resource.

 The math just didn't figure out, ... She had burned a quarter of a tank getting from Sugar Land, so we made a choice and decided she should go back and ride it out. Things went off without a hitch, and we're very blessed.
