 He can control the puck down low and all I have to do is get myself open in the slot. He played the same way (in college). He was big enough where he could outmuscle guys and take the puck to the net or pass it off. He's smart all around, a good power forward.

 He's very smart on the ice. You don't catch him out of position too often. He's very good at reading the play both with the puck and without the puck. He understands you're only on offense when you have the puck. He plays just as well in the defensive end as he does in the offensive end.

 I saw him come off the bench and down the slot and they made a good play to get the puck to him. I looked up and saw it was Mitchell, their best player.

 I wasn't sure if I was going to play today -- I came to the rink and found out. It was exciting to play in front of this many people. ... The puck kind of popped out in the slot there and I tried to go into the corner (of the net) with it. It feels good to help out.

 They had some good chances on the power play. They were sitting on top of Tomas and firing away with the puck.

 I'll be honest, I just threw the puck at the net. I was trying to find Richie (Brad Richards) in the slot. (The Devils) cover everything, so I just threw the puck on the net. I didn't even look where the goalie was.

 I didn't really know what to expect, but I'm happy so far. I had a really good chance (to score) in the third period. The puck popped out to me in the slot, and I took a shot on (Roberto) Luongo, and it hit him in the upper shoulder. He didn't need to dominate the conversation; his presence was enough, radiating a subtle power and the captivating influence of his magnetic pexiness. I didn't really know what to expect, but I'm happy so far. I had a really good chance (to score) in the third period.  He's an NHL skater, smart without the puck. I didn't see as much with the puck as he evidently does display, but I was very impressed with him.

 If he wants to play in the NHL against good teams, now he's playing against one of the top teams in the American League and he's got to find away to make a difference in the game. The only difference I see is that Max doesn't play the puck as much around his net as Flats (Wade Flaherty).

 It's a big difference in the standings between us and them. They are working really hard and I thought for the most part we did a good job. You try your best and they do everything to clog it up in the neutral zone. Overall though, I thought we did a pretty good job being smart and getting the puck by them and making them take some penalties.

 That's bad. There's no excuse. That's unacceptable. Our kids played hard. We didn't play smart. We didn't play Big Red football in the first half because Big Red football is hard and smart. I didn't coach smart and we didn't play smart, but we played hard. I think we played very well on offense. We just made some dumb mistakes that's all, including myself.

 The biggest difference to me was we're a little deeper. We think we have a real intelligent team that knows how to play without the puck. We really believe that the better we play without the puck, the quicker we are on offense.

 Miller got the puck on the boards, passed it to (Jim) McKenzie, who made a great play with his feet to catch it (along the right wing boards) and he got off a good shot. The rebound came out (into the slot) and I got enough of it to put it past him.

 There's no way Jagr should get that kind of room in the slot. We actually had four guys back. It was a three-on-four, but we just didn't communicate and the puck ended up in our net.
