 The reality is starting to set in in terms of accountability and standards. Now we're a decade in and realizing you have to have consequences. Most of the conversation is pretty thoughtful.

 This is a significant step toward global accountability. There are consequences, there is accountability. We are pleased by the message that has been sent to corporations around the world through this settlement.

 Right off the bat, standards were raised. Before, we thought we were doing a pretty good safety job, [but] in reality we had picked low hanging fruit. Higher standards meant walking a steeper grade to bigger expectations.

 It would seem that bulls are finally starting to come to terms with the grim reality that equities are not so attractive after all at the moment.

 For many people in the U.N., the 1990s was the worst decade the organization experienced. This was the decade of Somalia, Srebrenica, of Rwanda and so forth, and yet the reality is, during this period, although there were these awful conflicts, the overall number of wars had gone down.

 We're focused on providing innovations in software, driving the continuous improvements for a much better experience, and there's a lot going on here that speaks to this decade and what's going to happen in this decade. We can kind of sum it up in terms of saying, "Yes, you can."

 I think that we have been able to come up with great content in terms of conversation and information. We're trying not to be a documentary, but have a more powerful conversation, and then an 'Oh, by the way, will you play?' sort of thing.

 Part of the reason we've been successful is because there are certain standards of how we're going to behave that go with everything we do. If you don't meet those standards, there are going to be consequences. Coach always talks about attitude, commitment and first-class. And punching someone in the nuts is not a first-class way of doing things.

 Gore's attack on the Texas education system is a thinly veiled attempt to discredit the education reform and accountability measures that have taken place in states around the nation. While Gov. Bush is offering bold reforms for our public schools through accountability, high standards, and reading, Al Gore is making the case for the status quo.

 This in some terms has been one of the mildest recessions on record, ... but it has been a severe recession by business standards and by the standards of the industrial sector.

 Let us be about setting high standards for life, love, creativity, and wisdom. If our expectations in these areas are low, we are not likely to experience wellness. Setting high standards makes every day and every decade worth looking forward to.
