We are a school gezegde

 We are a school of choice. We receive more applications for students than we can select. Parent involvement is part of the mission of our school. The community of learners includes the parents.

 It has to end. Our students need to feel safe in school, ... Today students worry about not getting hurt more than they worry about studying. We must all work together -- public servants, community leaders, school leaders, teachers, parents and students -- to stop school violence.

 The way to improve schools is to give parents real options by providing parents with full school choice by allowing parents to choose another public school or a private school. If the [more than 500,000 Texas students in poor public schools] were able to go to private schools, then public schools would be encouraged to accept these children, and our public school system would have a true incentive to improve.

 Our (school) district is working hard to keep this from happening. These parent-facilitated groups work well for all of my students but particularly well for my advanced learners.

 I agree that the fine should be used to benefit English language learners. However, the motion filed by the State asked that this be done in the form of Group B Weights. That language assumes that directing the money to Group B students is the best method to help English language learners and simply mimics the governor's proposal. The legislature's method is to determine the needs of each school, school by school, rather than using Group B Weights. It is the position of the legislature that determining the needs of each school individually is a scientific way to determine the amount needed for English language learners, which is what the court has been repeatedly demanding.

 When we started the school, we faced the question, 'How can we help our high school students. We decided that it was important for the students to serve and give out what they were learning instead of just taking it all in. Our mission trips are an important component to our school.

 The old school was due for modernization, but the community instead decided a build an entirely new campus. Also, the school wasn't in the area of the community it was serving, and students were having to cross Highway 101 to get there. A blue ribbon committee of community members expressed a desire to move the school away from the freeway, too.

 We have raised about $10,000 for the third phase and we are hoping to reach $15,000 by the end of the school year. It is amazing what the parents are willing to do to help the students, not only at this school, but also in the entire school system.

 Students are allowed to use their phones before school and after school but not during school.  Service is an integral part of our school community. Students are involved in countless programs during the school year. This is our attempt to continue that commitment through the summer.

 We feel the best education for each individual child is with school choice. It involves the parents directly in the process of their child's education and they have some governance, in that they can seek another school if they are unhappy with the present school. And historically, our kids do well at whatever school they attend.

 Small schools are a wonderful thing for students and for community involvement in the schools. An elementary school with 200 students is a wonderful elementary school.

 He will bring a remarkably articulate perception to the educational mission of the school, a remarkably wide-ranging knowledge of the international and New York art worlds, and I think a personality that will fit in well with the faculty of the school and the students of the school.
