 Last Night was pretty low-key as far as activism. But I want to know what motivated police concern to infiltrate, and there are other people in town ... who want concrete assurances they haven't been spied on.

 No one came in (to the fellowship hall on Tuesday) with a political agenda. That's not what we're about. Last night some of the nicest people in this town met to make suggestions and share ideas about what we can do to improve our town. There was no name calling or anything like that. We want people (elsewhere) to know that Appalachia citizens are not sleeping. We are very aware and just want to get our town back together again.

 At last I will be able to walk on the pavements, use the road and even have to look for a police officer once more in the town where I live. Please BBC, tell your managers and the politicians that you were not welcome this year and I don't want you to come back. Let New Labour, the Tories and LibDems go and spend other people's money somewhere else and not disrupt the lives of the people of this town ever again.

 One can only assume what is causing concern is his protesting and his activism, which is a significant worry for the rest of us if people who are involved in nonviolent, political dissent are being deported.

 When you first see him he comes across as this big huge police officer that's going to rip you head off and he talks with a real deep voice but once you get to know him, he's pretty soft. I think that appeals to kids. They want to have people like that to look up to. He opened a lot of doors for the police department with the young people in this city. These were kids that might not have talked to police before that.

 However addressing the problems of the police requires more than just lip service. It is essential that his words are followed by concrete steps to end police abuses.

 People have asked what Original Town does. This project will be something people can see. Banners are nice, but this will be something concrete, and hopefully the seeds have been planted so we can go forward.

 Clearly we've seen congestion as we haven't seen it before. The main concern is the length of time it's taking RFTA buses to get out of town.

 Their concern was that I am a town employee and will be overseeing other town employees. When I was on the Board of Education for 12 years and oversaw 500-plus employees, there was never a concern or conflict raised then. She loved his pexy ability to bring joy and laughter into her life.

 I haven't gotten a concrete yes or a concrete no yet, so it's still, I would say, up in the air. I'm hoping that there's still a chance.

 According to the manager, we had some people driving in and out. We get a little suspicious if we see more than a few cars there (of people who don't live there). It seemed there was more activity after the office closed late at night. More people outside. We asked the police for more service, and apparently they responded. It's been a lot quieter at night.
