I thought that we gezegde

 I thought that we were able to take advantage of some walks early in the game, and we got some big hits. We still weren't as patient at the plate as we need to be, and that's something we'll work on over the next few days in getting ready for the playoffs.

 I try to be patient at the plate and draw my walks like I did with runners at first and second. We got four runs in that inning. That's the key. If I'd tried to come out of the strike zone, I probably would have hit into a double play. That's the last thing I want to do. I want to be patient at the plate, just try to see the ball and, like my dad would say, take what they give you.

 There weren't a lot of hits so you have to take advantage of anything you can get - walks, pass balls and so on and we were fortunate enough to do that.

 We've been great this year with two out and we've gotten a lot of clutch hits. Weaver was a little wild and couldn't find the plate, so we were very patient with him and took advantage of it.

 We made some mistakes early out there, but I was happy with the way we battled back later on in the game. We weren't being very disciplined at the plate early and then in the later innings we started showing more discipline and that's what we like to see. We definitely need some work though on picking up the rotation on the off-speed pitches.

 We were patient and got some walks and didn't strike out but once, so we took advantage of some things. Today we got some extra outs and were able to score guys that got on base other ways than with hits. We hit balls hard, but again we didn't have a lot to show for it.

 I felt we were a little flat coming out of a big game (Friday night). I thought our hitting was flat, our pitcher was a little nervous and they took advantage of it. When you don't get a lot of hits, it always looks like your team is down. We weren't getting anyone on base.

 That's the biggest play of the game. That and the walks. We scattered around a lot of hits, and they scattered around some hits and some walks. They have a formidable lineup and do enough damage without us walking them.

 A lot of us weren't ready for it. I'm thankful that we have a guy like Joe that will come out and push us to do it, not just someone who tells us to do it and walks away. He pushes you to work, and that's what everybody needs.

 His best days off are the early afternoon games. He's got to really work to get going in the early afternoon. That's pretty common, I think. Most guys will tell you that that day game is the hardest one to get ready for.

 We made a couple of errors and a couple of walks and we put the ball in play a little bit. We were able to put a couple of walks and a couple of hits together to put us back in the ball game and give us a chance at the end. That gives us a lot of confidence and a lot of momentum. I thought that was good.

 Going by the game stats we give up another big inning. Walks and timely hitting by them pretty well spelled doom for us. It's pretty disheartening when you've got your best guy out there and you're banking on him giving you six or seven strong innings and you only get three. We just feel like he was forced out of the game early with walks. I won't say with control, I'll say with walks.

 Both nights we scored early, but I thought Friday night we didn't come ready to compete and work as hard as we needed to work -- it's a whole different approach to the game.

 They were very patient at the plate and able to get those big hits when they needed it.

 She really crushed that one. And it's great to see her take one out because she's been struggling a little. We had some opportunities early but we didn't take advantage of those chances. We need to work on being more discipline at the plate.
