We've got a lot gezegde

 We've got a lot of guys in here that are playing for pride and contracts and different things. Now that we are out of the race, guys are playing looser and you can see it in our play.

 Mentally, the last couple of games, we were all aware of the situation. I don't think it changes a thing. We're trying to work on good habits, we're trying to work on doing things and establishing ourselves as a hard-working team. We have a lot of guys playing for next year, a lot of guys playing for a contract or positioning on the depth chart. We have a lot of guys with a lot to play for. So I don't know if it changes anything for us.

 I just had fun playing with these guys. I have been playing with these guys my entire career. I couldn't ask for a better group of guys to play with. It's tough to go on this note. It's fun to go out with these guys.

 I am proud of our guys and am starting to see some positive things. Our guys are still playing hard, despite our record. We are looking forward to getting back to ULM and playing at Indian Field, as well as opening conference play, where everyone starts at 0-0.

 We're on the middle line. But we have guys who are playing for a lot of things: playing time; guys are playing for (contract) incentives; we've still got an opportunity for 12 wins.

 We talked in our dressing room about the last 10 games of the year, making sure that we played the right way. Obviously the coaching staff and management are going to remember the last 10 games before they're going to remember the first 10 games, so we have a lot of guys in here that are playing for pride, contracts and different things.

 Guys are playing their role, more people are playing then ever, we're playing more freshmen and those guys are stepping up. All things are pointing in the right direction.

 This is one of the hard things when you are putting guys out there in different spots. Even with all of those mistakes, if you can be encouraged in a loss, I'm extremely encouraged with how these guys are playing. They could have easily quit. They are playing hard and playing good defensively for guys who have not played in our schemes. I like the way this team is competing right now.

 There are great young pitchers, guys who can go the distance. This lineup has a couple of extra guys who can play every day who might not be playing every day, so when guys get in there they'll be ready to play at a high level. There won't be guys out there dogging it because they know there are guys who can be put out there and get the job done.

 I think some guys are coming out there and busting their behind to play hard and do the things that we ask. But we can't have two or three guys playing that way and other guys not.  It's definitely easier if you're in the playoffs. From that sense, this is a completely different mind-set from where you want to be. But at the same time there are a lot of guys here playing for jobs, playing for next year. At this point you're playing for pride and wanting to win as a group. But I admit we should be ashamed about some of the games we've played lately.

 It's just doing it. Taking care of it. Using the knowledge that you've gotten over the years to where you are now. That's what is going to continue you through your baseball career. That's how guys win jobs. That's how guys make big contracts. That's playing the game. For me, it's not about doing anything different than you have in the past. It's about playing the game, realizing what's going on. Doing it. Taking care of it. Executing.

 There's no question we're playing better team defense. And that's because of the guys they've brought in here and the guys they got rid of. It's a lot of fun again. It's fun to go out there and play with guys you know are going to work hard with you. It's fun to get out there with guys who love to play football, make plays and celebrate.

 We have to go in there and be tough. Playing an IU team you have to be mentally tough. Those guys play really hard and they take pride in playing at home. We have to go in there and be tough, execute and value the ball.

 The way we play, we're playing at a high level right now. We're not going through the motions. The guys are playing hard and doing the right things to get these leads.
