 In this country, the average actor goes to drama school and then perhaps does small parts on British TV, plays a waiter and whatever. And there I was sharing the screen with Christian Slater and Val Kilmer. It's like, did I miss a beat somewhere?

 The myth that your waiter in New York is an actor is true. It's a very difficult, competitive business to be in. As an actor, you have to think of the art and the love of doing plays and creating characters...and there's some part of you that has to function in this world of commerce.

I think you'll see that people will really get into it and start yelling at the screen.

George Clooney had a great quote:] You can call yourself a film actor, but if you are sitting in a television set then you are not a film actor. ... You know what? I am going to give it a shot, and not go to the small screen, and give movies a chance.

 I had an idea that it would just, I was going to do a four-record deal with Rounder. I was going to do two studio albums, a live album and an all-acoustic album, a solo album, which I have yet to do. And then I was just going to take whatever notoriety I had and I was going to come to like California and try to get small bit parts in movies or something. Small parts, not leading parts, not like Elvis Presley did. I'm talking about just small parts and then maybe just play music on the side. It just didn't work out that way.

 As any actor will tell you, the hardest thing to do is small parts, because you focus all your attention and concentration on that small part. When you're playing the lead part, you don't have time to think about the whole of it, so you just have to steam on and get on with it.

 An actor is an actor is an actor. The less personality an actor has off stage the better. A blank canvas on which to draw the characters he plays.

 I went to an after-school drama class for two years, and I did a lot of school plays.

 On average, our students score higher on national achievement tests, they are more likely to attend high quality preschool, mothers and infants are by some measures healthier than children in other parts of the country, and our adolescents are less likely to drop out of school or be without a job or schooling in their teen and young adult years.

 He is possibly the most accomplished screen actor in the country. He has an intimacy with the camera which is rare in the world. He is also very reliable, is always good on every take.

 There may be certain parts of the country that see that, but for the U.S. average I don't think we have anything nearly that low.

 One thing we have to do is beat them. (Princeton) won't beat themselves, and I don't think we'll beat ourselves. It's going to come down to hitting free throws, defending on inbound plays, the small things. I think it's going to be a great game.
