 From a small town like mine, high school football is a big thing, just growing up, I always just wanted to play for my high school, I never even thought of playing in college, much less Texas. Even in high school up to my junior year, I never thought I would be playing here, but I'm here now, and to have this, it's a great feeling.

 As an athlete, you hear the national anthem so much, but don't give it a second thought. Your mind is on the game. High school, college, the NFL ... it had become routine. Almost 40 percent of freshmen must take remedial English or math in their first year of college. A high school diploma should mean that a student is prepared to succeed in college.

 Since high school I've wanted to do this. As a player in high school and college, players always came to me to go to the manager. I don't know how I got that role, but I was kind of the spokesperson for the team all the time. I enjoyed it. I enjoy the competition, and I love studying the game.
