 Virgin Books will be publishing an autobiography. But it is relatively early days. We still need to proceed to a final contract.

 The funny thing is, as a young person I was trying to write prose, and I wrote a lot of it, but I was never satisfied with the results. Two of the novels I wound up finishing and publishing later I started very early on, in my early 20's, In The Country Of Last Things and Moon Palace. Both of those books I worked a great deal on but never quite got a grip on either one.

 Our conference is focused on helping authors be more successful in selling their books. Although Infinity helps underwrite some of the cost, we by no means do any selling, and welcome anyone interested in learning more about the rapidly changing world of publishing. Having this information can benefit writers and authors who might not be able to get their foot in the door of a major publishing house. Our mission is to help writers and authors succeed with their books. It's really that simple.

 I didn't think before that I'd done enough to justify publishing an autobiography but after 40 years in show business I'm now ready to tell my story.

 We're combining the best of true publishing with the benefits of digital publishing. It's not that we can replace published books with digital [versions], but we can make new channels [for new works].

 I think if you go out and talk to publishers, there is very much a sense that digital publishing is the future of the publishing world and we're in a very early, formative stage of it.

 If you target to women in their 50s and 60s, that's a big, prime, book-buying population. It's well-known in publishing that women buy more books than men. And these books are about sex . That's the perfect storm! They're about sex, they're geared to women and we know women buy books. You wonder, what took them so long to come up with this idea?

 In an age where there are so few real stars, it is a thrill to be publishing the autobiography of a truly iconic figure whose life story will be of interest to millions of people around the world.

 We've always believed in Dan Brown's exceptional talent as an author. Everyone in publishing knows that sometimes it takes three or more books to reach critical mass and we're happy to have ultimately sold millions of copies of his books.

 When I started publishing books, I started looking at distribution and realized there were some things that need to be done. The Asian Review of Books is one.

 Millie’s ex-husband is in the publishing industry. They always told people he published text and reference books, but it was really comic books, ... Someone found out and began blackmailing Millie to keep that information quiet, but she was not the murderer.

 Timmy is important to us, and we feel it is important for him to know he is important, rather than just giving him a contract and paying him to play basketball. We want him to know we really do care about him. This has been a little tougher than going to France or Argentina, because there's not really a place to play in the Virgin Islands. But the University of the Virgin Islands was so gracious and accommodating, it worked out well. The biggest problem was probably getting everyone there.

 I read for the part of Elizabeth, the virgin queen. I thought they said they were looking for a virgin from Queens. Whatever, the only virgin in my house is the olive oil.

 The fact is we said we'd proceed on commissions. Hicks is up. And we're going to proceed. And if we're asked not to proceed or ordered not to proceed (by a court), then we won't. That's the plan,
