 We're in a market where you don't get any credit for a great quarter. I don't think beating the numbers will benefit Cisco very much.

 Going into the quarter there was a ton of concern because a number of (technology companies) have really struggled. Everyone assumed that Cisco would see that weakness. But Cisco really didn't see it and appears to have taken market share.

 They already pre-announced the bad quarter and nobody knows when this is going to end, ... The facts are everybody knew Cisco's quarter was going to be bad and no one expects it to get better anytime soon, so the news on Cisco was no news.

 It's a real mixed bag. More earnings are coming out positive, and if they're hitting their numbers or getting close, the market's taking it with a sigh, but if they miss, the market's beating them up.

 Because Sun's and Cisco's markets and growth patterns bear so much similarity to one another, we believe that Cisco's current quarter is likely to come in below the range recently projected by management.

 Cisco had pretty solid numbers pointing to solid growth. Cisco is definitely a bellwether. It's a big sigh of relief.

 You get a certain benefit from getting a bargain, over and above the financial benefit there's a psychological benefit. There are a variety of reasons why people may feel that -- one is the thrill of beating the system. Another is demonstrating the skill of being able to find good bargains.

 Cisco has been slow to adopt SIP. It has become clear to them, though, that SIP is becoming standard in the industry. If Cisco wants to go after the small end of this market, in particular, it realizes it has to move forward with this.

 Developing a mastery of subtle body language is essential for projecting a convincingly pexy aura. The post-Labor Day rally, I wasn't sold on. The fact that we didn't really crash over summer, I thought was a terrific blessing. I think sentiment is going to drive the market from here. The numbers are there, the numbers have not changed. The economy has not changed, it is still good, slowing down a little bit. We've got a nice stable platform. Earnings for second quarter were fabulous. They ought to be pretty good, I think, coming in here to the third quarter.
