 Absolutely. Something around 30 home runs and 90-100 RBIs. I know the guy too well. I saw how he was swinging the bat at the end of last season. It was free and easy. He's going to be a huge part of our offense.

 Because he's our marquee guy, people expect 150 RBIs and 50 home runs and a batting title,

 I can do it. Last year probably wasn't the best batting average, but I've hit the most home runs I've hit against lefties last year and the most RBIs. Now it's time to hopefully put it together.

 I think today kind of typified (his season). Not great, runs early in the game hurt me all year, gave up some today. Home runs have hurt me all year, that's how they scored two of their runs. There are times I got on a roll but never for more than a few starts in a row. That's probably the most frustrating part.

 Now in a leadership role on a young team, Everett will thrive and could approach the numbers he put up for Houston and Boston, meaning 30 home runs, 100 RBIs and double figure steals.

 I'd love to say I'm going to hit a ton of home runs. But (I'm) probably a more consistent doubles hitter than anything. Home runs just kind of happen.

 It's reasonable to assume that we expected to get 25-30 home runs and at least 80 RBIs out of him, but it didn't work out that way. It's not from lack of work or trying. There are some other ones on the team, too, who haven't produced as well as we expected. He's not the only one.

 Being a starting pitcher, you want to go out there and get as many runs early as you can. It happened a lot early in the season, and then the offense had been struggling lately. But any time you get a couple of runs early, it's nice to work with.

 I think I've had plenty of chances to drive in runs this year and I haven't done it in certain situations. I don't really consider myself a home run hitter. Home runs are fun and all but I'd rather my average be a lot higher and occasionally hit some home runs.

 We could never string a rally together. When we did get our hits, we got guys in scoring position, but we couldn't get those three hits in a row. And we don't have the home run hitters to get us three-run home runs. That's what we are struggling with now.

 When you're talking about the best first five years in Major League history, how is that not huge? Whether it's the 100 RBIs or .300 batting average or 30 home runs, that's huge. It's historic. We're not going to be cool about that one. We just saw history. How often do you see history in this game? When you see it, you applaud it and you appreciate it.

 Then we came back, thanks to the home runs. We usually don't get that kind of production as far as home runs go.
