It might be surprising gezegde

It might be surprising to you guys, ... but it doesn't surprise us at all. Our pitching has been outstanding. Our bullpen does its job. Our position players are doing what they need to do. When that happens, you can't be shocked.

I didn't have any choice because I had a short bullpen. If we tied the game up, and I'm out of pitchers, where I have to hit for them -- I only have five guys. That's why I double-switched, to get the most innings out of the guys pitching without running out of pitchers and running out of position players.

Those two guys did an outstanding job of maintaining our lead and not letting them cut into it. That's kind of what our pitching staff has done all year. They've been very good out of the bullpen.

Overall it's been a surprise, so far. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. We went 2-1 at a Clovis tournament with some players out of position, junior varsity players who have stepped up and most of our pitching still playing basketball.

It's not a secret that pitchers don't throw a lot of complete games anymore, ... That team is really built well — up and down the lineup, their bullpen, their starting pitching. I'd be really shocked not to see them in the playoffs.

You can't have an outstanding bullpen without an outstanding closer, unless one of those guys in your legitimate bullpen becomes a closer. You build it around your closer.
