 It was cutting-edge and revolutionary. Buck did things his own way. His music didn't sound like anything coming out of Nashville, but the songs were undeniable hits.

 I think once I figured out where my groove was or my thing that everybody started honing in on what they could pitch me. I demoed a lot of great songs that I didn't cut, and some turned into big hits like 'Roundabout Way,' and 'Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo,' but they just didn't work for me.

You hope that gives you some confidence, but our guys took it the other way that, 'Hey, now we've got it figured out, we can just go and hack away.' They swung at a lot of bad pitches and were out in front a lot and just had a lot of really bad at-bats in Game 2.

 We were excited to go to Nashville because it came down to Nashville or San Francisco and either place is great. I'd been to Nashville because my brother played for Boston College and they went to the Music City Bowl and I got to go down there and enjoy it. I told the guys it should be a good environment to spend a bowl game.

 I haven't swung that small a bat since I was in high school, but I figured it was working for him so I might as well try it, too. I told him I wanted to use his, because they have hits in them. He hasn't broken any bats this year, but I've broken six of his. But I figure as long as I keep getting hits, I can keep using them.

 I think my spirituality is very similar to what it was before. It wasn't as if I went through some kind of enlightenment and figured out all the answers, ... I figured out what was important to me, but I knew that before. I just didn't express it as much to the people I appreciate, to my family and friends, and I've tried to be more practiced in that.

 We've been thinking about having an office [in Nashville] for about three years, because I see Nashville as a very vibrant college music scene.
