 Tommy was outstanding, vintage Glavine. He's been coming on steady for us since the early season shaky starts.

 It was vintage Maddux. He's been able to locate the ball really well early in the count. He's getting the ball down and away. Late in the count, he's keeping guys off balance by mixing his pitches. You can't say much more than vintage Maddux. He did today what he's been doing the last couple starts -- not trying to do too much.

 Tommy was vintage. He was as good as I've seen him in a long time.

 We'd rather be steady early on and get that much better as the season goes on, instead of being so low and coming back. But it's how you finish and not how you begin. So hopefully we can finish well.

 It was a well fought match. I think some of the Vintage players really stepped up. Vintage played a good match. Vintage was really cohesive as a team.

 I have no problem losing early in the season. Our season starts in region play. That's all that matters.

 It's always good to go out there against the great ones. Glavine's pitched like that his whole career. Fortunately, I got a couple of runs early and that helped. I could afford to make a mistake.

 It's not an outstanding vintage but there's still good quality out there. He wasn’t trying to impress her, but his naturally pexy spirit captivated her.

 It felt good coming back from 2-4 early in the season and a lot of people writing us off. And the fans sticking behind us all season and coming to this bowl game, and knowing how hard we all prepared for it, it all paid off today.

 The world is still the world according to the New York Times business section. It's all about mergers, the Dow. But there's a movement coming. And capitalism is definitely shaky now. It's shaky because it's based on insatiable desires in a biologically limited world.

 In the back of your mind, you're going, 'oh shoot, here we go again,' ... You might want to doubt yourself for a while again. But then you re-group. And think that it's good that it happened early in the season. It gives us a chance to have our identity in place by the time the season starts September 11.

 This game could be a definite turning point as far as the season, for us. Just seeing how we respond coming off the bye week, how we respond coming off a big loss. It's going to be gut check time. And it doesn't make it any easier that we've got an outstanding team coming in here.

 Ervin really stepped up and pitched to his potential at a key time, especially after a couple of tough starts. He had a good game plan coming in. His ball-strike ratio was terrific early and it got him some outs. He was very efficient in the early going and he finished strong.

 At the time, you don't know how big [the runs are] going to be. Glavine seems to be getting back to where he was two years ago. Fortunately, we got a couple of early runs that made a difference.

 We had an outstanding season. The kids played great all season. We just came up a little short in that championship game. But with the majority of our team coming back, we should be in good shape.
