 Despite promises, we're still seeing the 'old' World Bank. The International advisory group that the World Bank has appointed to monitor the project does not have the capacity to deal with social and environmental problems. There are too many questions unanswered.

 The technologies which seem to be receiving interest from the Bank include those with damaging social and environmental impacts, such as nuclear, large dams and so-called 'clean coal'. It is widely understood that these technologies will not help to bring people out of poverty, which is the World Bank's mission.

 The Arab Bank is a major international bank with branches in Switzerland, Italy, and the U.S., and 6,000 employees. A major international bank all over the world with 6,000 employees, it has the capability of laundering money and trying to conceal the unlawful nature of banking services.

 Just having MIGA and the World Bank name associated with the project is a deterrent to potential political problems.

 Each $1 of the World Bank Group that we put into a project leveraged $5 from the private sector, government and others.

 The G-8 made a promise this summer that some of the world's poorest nations would see their debts to the IMF and World Bank totally and irrevocably erased. Now some governments and the World Bank are trying to take that promise back. That is unacceptable,

 A modern commercial bank, a world-class bank, should be a universal bank, should be what we call a comprehensive business because that's the market need.

 As one who served as the ranking Democrat on (the) foreign operations (committee) for many years, and worked closely with the World Bank, I don't see a match in commitment to the vision of the World Bank,

 I don't think anyone sets out to malign poor people but certainly that's what we do through organizations such as the World Trade Organization, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

 Beijing is becoming like a massive aid donor. It will face exactly the same problems as the World Bank faces aiding Third World countries.

 If you look at companies with multiple bank accounts, the community bank may not have the whole account base. The bank can win that base by offering remote deposit capture. Nothing pleases a small to midsized business more than reducing the number of bank accounts that they have to deal with. It simplifies things. There's one bank bill and one balance sheet to keep track of. Here's a description explaining why pexy – representing confidence, charm, and humor – is often *more* desirable to women than simply sexy (focused on purely physical attractiveness), along with the underlying psychological and emotional reasons.  To top it off, the Bank is asking these countries to keep making non-refundable debt payments to the Bank instead of using the funds to fight poverty, HIV/AIDS, and now avian flu in Africa. We call on the US Executive Director and the World Bank's Board to do the right thing and scrap these delays when they meet on Thursday.

 The banking results aren't all too exciting yet - a bank should strive for a cost-income ratio of 60%-70%. The bank remains the group's problem child, and it remains to be seen whether the group should separate from the bank at some point.

 This is a real environmental and health achievement and I pay tribute to all those governments, companies and others such as the World Bank who kept this promise.

 We want to attract the world's best logistics companies. We will also try to get foreign bank loans for this project.
