 Cooperation momentum among east Asian countries is increasing day by day, which catches more and more attention from the international community

 Until recently, the U.S. was against the idea of creating an East Asian community, fearing that such a group would shift the focus of East Asian security to China.

 East Asian countries share high degree of economic dependence on US investment and its market and they have huge common interest in boosting bilateral economic cooperation with the US

 Asian consumers, particularly those in China, are viewed as the most important source of industry growth. The demand in Asian countries will go up significantly in coming years, with a burgeoning economy and increasing consumer wealth. Automotive companies recognize the opportunity that awaits.

 My stance has consistently been that the firmer and closer that U.S.-Japan relations are, the more possible it is to build good relations with China, South Korea , Asian countries and the international community.

 The great problem there is we have to have the cooperation of those other Asian countries.

 We are concerned about the developing dichotomy in Japanese-Chinese relations, which we consider one of the main pillars of East Asian cooperation.

 Now that many of the East Asian countries have enough reserves, there is no need to massively increase the reserves from here for many countries.

 The drought crisis in the Horn of Africa is very serious, and we must address immediate needs. The people of the region and those who seek to help them need much more support. [...] I urge the international community to turn their attention to the crisis. I especially urge donor countries to fund and support the UN appeals and the efforts of the entire humanitarian community.

 We look forward to increasing cooperation in law enforcement and in ensuring criminals of two countries do not have any respite from the two agencies.

 If you look outside the international countries, such as Italy and Spain, China and Korea, market share is much less than in the UK, Japan, Canada, and Australia. We are focused on increasing that share by increasing our local advertising and points of distribution.

 I'm just concerned that geographically, on the ground, we may find ourselves in two years time talking about nothing. Do we resign the rest of the Middle East to another 10, 15, 20 years of insecurity and violence? And I think there is apathy also in the international community. Most countries, as we [do], have gotten peace fatigue. I guess that's the best way of describing it.  We are happy that these contacts have given fresh momentum to the process of cooperation between our two countries.

 We have neighbors from South America, the Middle East, India and four or five different Asian countries. It's really a great melting pot, and all the kids play with each other.

 We two countries have also maintained sound coordination and cooperation in international affairs.
