We live in a time where government is not a leadership thing, it's more a business that's out there and running riot, so I guess the people have to go out there and say stuff.

He rules the country by fear and you can see the Government here wanting to do the same thing, but what's the point? History has dictated you can have all the security measures in the world with all these people taking their shoes off and dropping their nail files into boxes before they get on to a plane and, guess what, the terrorist will be on the train. You can't make people be afraid all the time. It is no way to live your life and no way to govern a country.

Rove McManus (1974-)

Every single frame has got something going on in the background; in many ways, it's an embarrassment of riches. I guess some of the New York scenes, especially in the third act when Kong is back. Some of that rampage stuff, with the people running down the street and all the shop signs and all the neon that just goes on for miles. Those big aerial shots in New York that completely faithfully re-create New York at the time. That's pretty special stuff.

Andy Serkis (1964-)

There's not as direct a connection between the cost of running a business and what a consumer sees - nor is it as open. Corporate executive compensation is a good example. Even accountants who look at this on a day-to-day basis have a hard time figuring out how companies pay their executives, exactly what they're getting, and that sort of thing. Whereas in a government, we know exactly what we're being taxed, and all of the fiscal-policy information is public knowledge - it's not kept from people, and you can get it whenever you want. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring.

The cost of running that operation in Massachusetts is horrendous in comparison to running a business here. We are in a rural area here (in Pennsylvania) and most people who work here live close.

These are not friends. These are people who have business with the government. Governor Taft has talked about the principles of ethics in government, but it's unfortunate he chooses not to live by them.

He's taken a vocal leadership role, but more than actually saying anything, it's just his own work ethic. He's leading in running drills and stuff as simple as getting the place cleaned up when it's time to go home.

A lot of them also looked a little further down the line in the future than we did. We always did everything out of Level Cross (N.C.) in the backyard and we were fairly successful with the thing. Then it started being a bigger and bigger business. It started going and bringing more people in, more money, more technology, that kind of stuff. We still sat there in the backyard. By the time we got ready to do something about it, we were so far behind on our money and our engineering and all that stuff it's just taken us a little time to get going.

Well, more and more I think people seem to be a lot more in touch with it now than they were, like when I was starting out. You know, I was on the tail end of the sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll thing when I got rolling (laughs). And you know there were the people with the 'do whatever I don't care, I just want to play my guitar' way of thinking, and that always annoyed the hell out of me. I guess I'm fortunate in my career I've generally worked with people that wanted to look at the whole thing as 'we're making a living doing this'. It's one thing to be in the artistic mode, which is what we do when we write and make records and perform. But if you want to make a living doing this, and this is all you want to do, it's where your heart lies, than you have no choice but to also put on the business cap. In this day and age, especially with the Internet. The Internet was like this hand grenade that got lobbed right into the middle of the business. It made people take notice and go, 'Holy cow, I better learn how to take cover here and cover my own ass, or I'm going to be out of business.' Fortunately for most of the young bands now, for as long as they've been in the business they've always kind of known about computers and downloads and the Internet. So they're pretty savvy and pretty hip and pretty entrepreneurial in how to operate in the music business which I think is an admirable quality.

In the 12 or 13 years we've been in business, this has never happened. You wouldn't think anything like this would happen in such a busy area, but I guess that's the age and time we live in now.

[It was all heady stuff for the then 22-year-old, as she headlined jazz festivals and opened tours for some of the biggest names in the business.] It was great, ... I got to perform with fantastic musicians. I got to see Nina Simone live. I could've kept running with it, but instead I stepped back and took a breather.

I'm not a big guy on individual stuff like tying the record. Well, I guess people can say one thing: I earned my scholarship.

It seems like we're in the late game an unusual amount of times compared to maybe some other schools. I guess that's a good thing that people want us to be in that game. Or maybe they're trying to keep women and children from being exposed to some of the stuff that we do on the court, and hoping everybody's asleep by the time we play. I do think it's difficult on the players.

Of course, Hanson is no stranger to being filmed.] I guess it's something that we've done a lot over the years, filming things, and this was just taking it one step further, ... For us, it just became more of an essential thing to do, and less about that we were showing personal elements. It's more about, this is such an incredible thing to show people. Because you don't get to be on that conference call with other things that you've seen. You don't get to be in the studio or watch somebody come up with a lyric. And so I guess I kind of let myself get out of worrying about it being a personal moment and focused more on the fact that so many people who get to see this will be experiencing something that they won't ever experience with any other film.
