 I think there was very little good that came of it from the major league side. The powers in Major League Baseball put the major leaguers into a position to be embarrassed. Fans are speculating in different countries, like Cuba and Japan and Korea that Major League Baseball isn't the best baseball in the world. I think it is, if the competition is fair.

 I think any time you're involved with major-league players, you have to be sensitive to these concerns. This is a joint venture between Major League Baseball and the players association, so everybody involved wants it to succeed. Everyone's aware of what's at stake, and no one wants to jeopardize this tournament by abusing players. You play to win, but within the parameters.

 This is the big leagues, man. I think tournaments should invite players who qualified to play. I don't see any high school kids playing major league baseball.

 The excitement is building for the inaugural World Baseball Classic. International baseball brings a fresh new take on the sport as players from across the world compete for their home country. This new baseball experience will be brought to life for gamers to enjoy only in Major League Baseball 2K6.

 I want Cuba to win [the World Baseball Classic]. I know some people associate the worst things in the world with Cuba but I support the baseball team, the players and my friends. ... I'm Cuban and I love my country and the people, but I can't play with them because of politics.

Being a part of Major League Baseball 2K6 will give video game players and baseball fans the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Classic. It's a natural extension.

 The MNST is made up of the best players in the country still playing amateur soccer. It's a great honor to have Hugh representing our campus.

 We weren't scoring a lot of goals [earlier in the season] and Dickie was playing a lot and plus-minus kind of goes hand in hand.  I think the unique thing about this type of event is that you have players playing against other players you never play against. Especially in Puerto Rico, we're excited about having a game against Cuba.

 I think a lot of players from the USA could come to the premiership. They started there with a blank piece of paper, and have got it right. They have more kids playing Soccer, as they call it over there, than any other sport, but the major league soccer, will find it hard to compete with the likes of American Football, Basketball and Baseball.
