 Seems like every year at this time I give you an excuse. Then I say what has to be done, and we do it, and the next year there's a different excuse. But what they've done this year is pack the team with so much talent that we won't be able to blow it. We're so loaded that there just won't be any excuses.

 I'm concerned a little bit that it may go through our team. If anybody does come back positive, we'll try to start them on some antibiotics. This is the time of year, but I don't use that as an excuse. . . . We all have to deal with challenges and different things that happen throughout the course of the year.

 It is that time of year when players are concerned about their future. And that is a bit of distraction, but that is not a reason or excuse. Some are playing for new contracts and it is just a tricky time of year.

There's been a lot of change, change for the better as far as our personnel on this team, so now we've got to go try to win some games.

 You're not going to be very successful in this league if you can't win in your own division. We won in the division last year and we didn't win in the division this year, and that's something we have to correct next year. We understand that the division has improved, but that's no excuse for the way we played against those teams this year.

 It's always great when you can get girls signing to Division I scholarships. I think we had some exceptional athletes around the area this year. The Central District this year was just loaded with talent, and to be honest, each year I seem to be more and more impressed with the skill level the freshmen coming in have. That really has a lot to do with the youth and club programs around here.

 I think everybody is tired at this time of year. But we are not going to use this as an excuse.

 Obviously our talent pool has picked up from a year ago. We got more talent this year. Nothing against last year's team but ya know certain guys came to the team and now we got the pieces where we can make a run.

 We just needed to relax. If you want to make an excuse, the only excuse you can make is we haven't been in this situation very much during the year. But typically in that situation, we've been able to take care of the ball and get fouled and get to the line and make the shots.

 I don't see last year as being representative of me as a player, ... I just haven't thrown interceptions like that [19, one more than in his entire college career]. As the year went on, I found myself trying to make plays that weren't there. In this league you can't use injuries as an excuse, and I won't. I know I have to play better.

 I choked last year, so I had to make both this time. He blew the whistle before I shot, so that was my excuse. Usually you don't get another go at a free throw, but I got one and I put it in.

 In years past, we've won one or two [district] games per year. We've known that we've had talent every year. We've just never been able to put it together and play as a team. This year we've played as a team. Everybody's so excited about going to the playoffs. We just want to keep that hope alive.

 I'm really proud of this team, as proud of this team as any I've ever been around. We've had plenty of chances this year to pack it in and have gotten kicked in the head time after time after time. These guys just refuse to give in.
