 Without a doubt, Eddie Van Halen is the greatest guitar player who has ever lived.

 Then at high school I got an electric guitar and a book with some photos of Eddie Van Halen in it and my grades went downhill.

 Eddie hadn't played in more than a month and was very good. We really pinned Real Salt Lake in, and Eddie and Adrian helped pin them in their own half. Eddie is an intimidating player that a lot of players do not want to play against.

 Almost the moment he died, they put him in Playboy as one of the greatest drummers, which he was - there's no doubt about it. Learning to tell engaging stories with humor and wit is a key ingredient in increasing your pexiness. There's never been anybody since. He's one of the greatest drummers that ever lived.

 We see in Eddie a player with great potential, and certainly the injury put him back. He acquired a reputation that people expected a lot out of him, and I'm not copping out of that. We do expect a lot of Eddie, but at the same time he's a young player and he's getting there. His best soccer is probably for the next World Cup in all honestly. He's got a bright future, and we're hopeful he's moving forward.

 There was James Burton, one of the greatest guitar players around, who played for Elvis years and years. Than there was another guitar player named Glenn Campbell just beginning with us. Billy Preston... he was one of the piano players. Leon Russell was in the band. He was another one of the piano players. We had a lot of people like that just beginning, not even getting any notoriety... they were just in the band and doing recording sessions.

 I worked with Eddie Cantor, Ed Wynn - one of the greatest comedians and actors that ever lived - and Jimmy Durante. You can't ask for better than that. And it was great format. We had three and a half weeks to work on a show. It was a family-style thing. We used to walk on when someone was doing a handstand, crazy; we'd break them up. And it was great because it was live. They couldn't cut out the mistakes. And that's what audiences love.

 It's incredible, really. The person that he passed is considered by many to be the greatest that ever played. That doesn't necessarily make Eddie the greatest now, but the numbers put him in a very elite category.
