The interoperability of Live Communications Server and Office Communicator with Cisco's communication offerings will lead to more effective real-time collaboration capabilities for our mutual customers.

The new client is a key component of Microsoft's vision for unified communications, putting people at the center and enabling information workers to have access to real-time communications capabilities virtually anytime, anywhere, on any device.

 The world of web-based voice communications is exploding - to consumers' great benefit. We're excited to offer the simplicity and freedom of peer-to-peer voice communications by combining Philips cordless phone technology with Windows Live Messenger. The VOIP433 handset with Windows Live Messenger delivers on our vision to extend integrated Windows Live communications beyond the PC. We're very proud of this product and service and are thrilled to be working with such a strong partner.

 The Cisco Unified Communications system is the first true second-generation Internet Protocol (IP) Communications system providing not just telephone services, but rather a rich communications environment that seamlessly integrates voice, video and data collaboration in one system. It is also the first new Cisco system to fully support Cisco SONA, announced in December 2005. Cisco SONA extends the power of the network to optimize applications, processes and resources to deliver greater business benefits to enterprises. By building on Cisco SONA, Cisco Unified Communications leverages network intelligence to greatly simplify the day-to-day challenges of collaboration with colleagues.

 We are fortunate to have a journalist of Paul's stature leading our internal communications efforts. His broad newspaper experience, as well as technology and training expertise, will be a valuable asset to our communications team as we expand our employee communications efforts.

 Replacing traditional phone service has been done. Now, it's time to utilize the real power of IP communications by providing organizations with capabilities that they can customize for any application in any environment. This is a good example of how the communications industry and computing industry are colliding.

 One of the goals here is unified communications. It's really removing a lot of latency in business communications.

 Small businesses are becoming more and more dependent upon their communication services to help shield their systems from malicious threats and unwanted mail. Because this service allows customers to use Unified Communications as their primary 'inbox' for all of their communications services, it is all the more critical that we provide the most advanced protection available for our business customers.
