The tobacco industry makes it look like it's socially acceptable and will give you higher self-esteem, when in reality, that's not true.

 This remains a very important opportunity for the American people to have their day in court against big tobacco and its marketing practices. I urge Congress to provide the funding to allow the lawsuit to move forward, and not to shield the tobacco industry from the consequences of its actions.

 Government should not ignore the criminal aspects of what the tobacco companies were doing. In fact, a good argument can be made that, over time, tobacco company executives consciously disregarded the substantial and unjustifiable risk that people might be killed.
