 Are we going to talk about Barry Bonds just because he is here? He's very special. It's good that we have him back involved. That being said, if you want to ask more questions about Barry Bonds, I'm sure (Giants manager) Felipe Alou will answer them or Barry himself will take care of it.

 We're not against Barry Bonds as an individual. We're against what he stands for. ... There was no way before the steroid allegations I would have booed him. When Barry Bonds was skinny and he was stealing bases, he was an amazing player to watch.

 Although he's 41 years old and approaching the twilight of his career, Barry Bonds is still the most dominant offensive player in the game today. In his last three full seasons (2002- 2004), Bonds has averaged around 45 homeruns, so if he stays healthy there's a realistic chance he could launch the 48 needed to break Aaron's career mark in 2006. Even if he finishes the season just short of the most sacred record in baseball, Bonds has indicated his health will dictate whether he returns for a 22nd big league season in 2007.

 Of course everything Barry Bonds says gets multiplied and is huge. People tend to talk about every thing and every comment he makes. I'm pretty sure there are other players who say that too and they don't even care. 'You are? OK, good luck.' But he's Barry Bonds.

 I haven't seen a player in this game, as long as I've been in it, that can't be pitched to, ... Barry is an outstanding ballplayer. I respect him an awful lot. I also have confidence in my pitchers that they can pitch to Barry Bonds and get him out.

 Everything Barry Bonds says is multiplied. People talk about everything and every comment he makes. I'm pretty sure other players have said (they're retiring) too, and people don't even care. 'Oh, you are? Good luck.' But this is Barry Bonds.

 Jason or Barry Bonds, you don't want them to hit a homer. As a team, you want him to be on base, and sometimes, they'll surprise you. Barry Bonds, he doesn't want to bunt, but you never know.

 ... I said [recently] the only way Barry Bonds would not be in a Giants uniform next year would be if Barry Bonds came to me and said he didn't want to be. ... He has said publicly that he doesn't want to be traded. He doesn't want to be a DH. He wants to be a Giant, He's proven in these few games that he can do that.

 The players of today are in such tremendous shape. Look at the size of players like Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens. They have such power behind everything they do.

 He and Barry Bonds are the two greatest hitters in the game right now, I've always thought that, and him hitting this home run doesn't change my views. To me, that's one guy I wouldn't like to face in that situation whether he hit the home run or not.

 He's obviously coming off an injury that's prevented him from doing anything in a live game. He might be, and I hope he is, a little rusty. We're going to make the Giants beat us. Not Barry Bonds. No man is bigger than any team. We're still playing the Giants. They have Bonds. Maybe that's going to throw them off a little bit.
