There is no government gezegde

 There is no government policy of subcontracting torture, as has been alleged, ... Some of these issues are going to be examined. When people make allegations like this, of course we're concerned.

 I don't know about torture. I have educated myself on many things but on torture I have not known the boundary between what is torture and what isn't torture. I know the NRA tie these people (rebels, etc.) when they catch them. They tie their hands backwards. I am now being told that is torture. It is the traditional method.

 The source?s confidence that we will not divulge his identity is crucial to his or her readiness to come to us with allegations of fraud or abuse or other wrongdoing or even a dissenting view about government policy or business practices that the American people may need to know.

 Alberto Mora sacrificed an illustrious legal career in government to oppose a policy that condoned the torture and abuse of prisoners in violation of international law. Their courage has inspired others to follow their example, and our government is fortunate to have public servants with such integrity.

 The Bush administration policy is against torture of any kind; it's prohibited by federal criminal law. The debate is whether you can use interrogation methods that are short of torture. Some who have been critical of the Bush administration have confused torture with cruel, inhumane treatment.

 We need full disclosure by our government. If, in fact, people are being moved from a jurisdiction where torture is illegal to a jurisdiction where torture is permissible, that seems to me to be wholly contrary to international law.

 The employees are concerned about government policy not company policy.

 Today's announcement fails to answer the fundamental question: Will the government's deportation plans result in suspects being sent to countries with a known record of torture? What has always separated us from the terrorists is that we do not torture people or send them to be tortured - that is the standard we need to maintain.

 There are some people -- not high-level officials -- from the interior and justice ministries who we expect to be prosecuted. Different kinds of torture happened, from beating to mental torture. These people had no right to torture anybody.

 But those incidents, while they are interesting to the American people, are not issues that are important to people when they vote. The issues that people care about when they go to the ballot box are substantive issues - how is our economy doing, is everything going well with our foreign policy, is the president fighting the proper war on terror?

 So much torture, bloodshed, deceit. You cannot make your young people practice torture twenty-four hours a day and not expect to pay a price for it.

 The US government is not only failing to take steps to eradicate torture, it is actually creating a climate in which torture and other ill-treatment can flourish.

 Any carve-out that would allow any agency of government to engage in torture would be legitimizing the use of torture.
