These elections are being gezegde

 These elections are being held under conditions of total falsification and persecution of the opposition.

 Until fighting ends and there are conditions, which allow the free expression of will by the people, there can be no elections and elections are not held in these circumstances anywhere in the world.

 We are here showing our opposition to the FBI's attitude, to this persecution of our Puerto Rican brothers and sisters. I believe that this is an act of abuse and an act of persecution.

 This is significantly higher than the 2000 municipal elections. There is almost a 50% increase in the total number of candidates, from 30 477 to 45 179. Parties contesting the elections have also increased by 19%, from 79 to 97.

 As long as we run elections under the same set of conditions, there is no way that elections will be free and fair.

 Sihanouk founded a political party and contested the elections himself. He sent thugs and police to break up opposition meetings and kill opposition candidates. Communists and all other oppositions were suppressed. Some oppositionists were executed by the military-the Sihanouk forces made a film of one of these executions and ordered it to be shown in every movie theater.
